The player unlocks new bacteria upgrades by purchasing more colonies. After purchase, Bacteria upgrades cannot be sold or disabled.

All bacteria upgrades are lost when attacking a [[Planets|'''planet''']] or entering a '''[[Black Hole]]'''.
