Idle BPS bonus can be obtained and increased from [[Upgrades#Gene Strand Upgrades|Gene Strand upgrades]], and [[Evolved Bacteria]], and . It can also be boosted with the '''Dark Frequencies''' technology in the [[Dark Matter Institute]]. However, Dark Frequencies only doubles the current idle BPS, so a player with 0% idle BPS bonus doesn't benefit from this technology.
