Bacteria are the main resource in the game. They are used for purchasing and upgrading [[Colonies|colonies]] and attacking [[Planets|planets]]. Bacteria can be obtained in the following ways:*by tapping on the screen*automatically, if [[BPS]] is bigger than 0*from [[Red Bacteria]] bonus*from failed [[Research#Colony Irradiation|Colony Irradiation]] or [[Research#Bacteria Evolution|Bacteria Evolution]] Bacteria can reach [[Large Numbers|'''large numbers''']] very quickly, which are displayed using [[Large Numbers#Abbreviations|abbreviations]] or [[Large Numbers#Scientific Notation|scientific notification]], if it has been enabled in the settings menu. The player loses all his Bacteria when attacking a planet or entering a [[Black Hole]]. In doing so, more valuable resources are obtained and new Bacteria can be produced faster.{{bacteria description}}
