Dark Matter Institute is a place where you can purchase upgrades that will last between unlocked after the first '''[[Black Hole|Black Holes]]. It is unlocked after entering the first Black Hole ''' and upgrades in it can be purchased allows players to purchase new technologies for [[Resources#Dark Matter|'''Dark Matter''']].

In Unlike most upgrades, the technologies in Dark Matter Institute, there are three trees you can spend the Dark Matter on:* BPS tree* BPC tree* Research treepermanent and are not lost in planetary attacks or upon entering a Black Hole.

===BPS The Institute has two tech trees. Purchasing an upgrade from one tree===Content about BPS does not lock you out from the other tree.

===BPC tree=Reset==Content about BPC Resetting one tech treecosts {{Diamond icon}}10 and returns the spent Dark Matter back to the player.

There is no limit to how many times a tech tree can be reset and the price for each reset does not increase. If the player has purchased [[Doppelganger]], it's impossible to reset the Research tree if
