Every 1.5 to 3 minutes there is a chance that a red bacteria will spawn.
Clicking on the red bacteria does not break the idle bonus streak and gives one of the following effects:
- free bacteria in the amount of X times of the current BPS
- X times increased BPS for X seconds
- X times increased BPC for X seconds
